Revolutionize your data collection: The latest update to Microsoft List forms

Microsoft Lists is a powerful tool designed to help teams stay organized and work more efficiently. Whether you’re tracking tasks, sharing resources, or organizing information, Lists can help streamline your workflow and keep everyone on the same page.

One of the latest announcements to Microsoft Lists is an enhanced forms experience. With this update, creating and managing forms will be easier than ever before. Forms can be designed to look clean and professional, with custom logos, names, and descriptions. And with user-friendly questions instead of column names, respondents can easily understand what information is being requested.

The ability to create multiple forms for the same list is particularly useful for event organizers. For example, one form can be created for internal users and another for external attendees. This makes it easy to collect the information you need, regardless of who is filling out the form.

Forms can be easily shared, and respondents can fill them out using any device. This makes it easy for people to provide the information you need, no matter where they are or what device they’re using. And once the form is submitted, all responses appear immediately in your list. This allows you to quickly see and respond to the information you’ve collected.

In addition to simplifying the process of collecting information, Microsoft Lists also offers a range of formatting options and automations to help you make the most of your data. You can customize your list with colors, icons, and conditional formatting to make it easy to understand at a glance. And with automated workflows, you can automate tasks like sending notifications or updating records based on specific conditions.

In conclusion, Microsoft Lists is a powerful tool for teams of all sizes. With the updated forms experience, it’s easier than ever before to collect information, track tasks, and stay organized. Whether you’re an event organizer, project manager, or just trying to stay on top of your to-do list, Microsoft Lists can help unlock your team’s full potential and make collaboration a breeze.

    Hi, Joao,

    thanks.

How ist this Form build in the backend? Ist this a SharePoint Custom Form (eq Power App), a combination for MS Forms and MS Lists, or something specific for MS Lists (list formatting JSON, …)?

    looking forward

      Hi Olleh,

It is a new type of form with its own interface to manage and create, it is not related with PowerApps or Microsoft Forms.

      Have a nice day 🙂

Hi João, thank you for your valuable blogs. I. do have a question though, I have a Microsoft Business License but I cannot find “Manage Forms” item on my menu bar that you refer to in above blog? Is there somewhere I should enable this?
    Thanks!

Does this require a special licence? With a business professional subscription I do not see the forms feature. Or does this refer to the forms option that can be found under automation > Power Apps?

Nothing was announced about the licensing model for this so I’m assuming it will be included in the Microsoft 365 licensing model.

      Have a nice day

Hi João I see you published this article about Microsoft Lists and the ability to Manage Forms for different purposes in May 2023. This one is going to be so beneficial, and I was hoping to find out the target date for launch. I was trying to find the update on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap. Do you the Roadmap ID or any other insider knowledge?

      Hi Colleen,

It was scheduled initially to be delivered in October 2023, but it was moved to January 2024.
      Here it the Roadmap item.

It should be almost ready to be released and I was able to capture it in action in December, you can see it in action in this video.

Wish you a happy new year!
